                                                               Meaningful

Since the beginning of their school experience at Parker, the K/1s work has been rooted in happy, engaging, and meaningful experiences.  It is that time of the year when it becomes increasingly apparent that happy, engaging, and meaningul has produced confident, independent, motivated, and joyful learners. According to Martin E.P. Seligman, author of Flourish, there are "five elements to well being:  positive emotion, engagement, meaning, positive relationships, and accomplishment."  I think the photos below speak of these elements.....I have not arranged the photos in a specific order, as I usually do.  They tell a story just as they are - in the order they were taken. Watch them with your child, if you can, and engage in conversation about the work.
