Planting Mountain Ash Trees at school under the guidance of master gardeners, and with the help of our middle school buddies.
We love the vast spaces at our school - the fields, forests, wetlands.......Study after study has shown that exposure to nature on a regular basis has hugely beneficial effects on the whole person. Hugging a little tree about to be planted, carrying a bucket of tools, working side by side with an elderly master gardener, helping each other accomplish tasks out in the beauty of nature. Whether a child or adult, nature heals all!
Back in the classroom we got together with our buddies and drew pictures of the trees we planted. We turned some of our pictures into thank you notes for the master gardeners.
Have a peaceful week!
Liliana
