Here are a few highlights of the week......

Science class

We drew camouflaged butterflies.
We explored camouflaging the butterflies to samples of patterned fabric.

Also during science class we went out to look for animal homes and compare habitats.

We finished presenting our family
pictures.

We are experts in speaking about
our pictures and taking questions from our audience.

We are a respectful audience and good listeners too!

Nathaniel's mom read a book entitled Summer Birds by Margarita Engle about The Butterflies of Maria Merian.  The book is a true story of a woman scientist who lived in the Middle Ages, when people thought insects were evil.  Maria made accurate drawings of insects - lots of observational drawings, and kept a journal.

Here we are making our fall pictures.
Also we brainstormed all we have learned about the beautiful season of Fall.

The K/1's enjoyed a bit of time
reading with their middle school buddies.

Until next time.
