Happenings

In the past couple of weeks the K-1s had fun exploring, discovering, and creating in all areas.  Particularly they had fun making "thanksgiving" cards for people in our school community - buddies, office people, teachers, and Wanda (she cleans our school).

Especially wonderful was Special Friends Day! The children had fun making a story book with their special friends.  Thank you grandparents, parents, and friends for helping make our school so special!

Jamie taught us all about harvesting honey from our own bees - the first harvest - thank you bees!

In Science, the children spent time outside exploring habitats - field, forest, and stream.  They made observations and discussed, "How are these habitats different?"  In the classroom the children worked in groups to draw habitats and share their work with the class.

Also in Science class the children had fun weighing and measuring pumpkins.

First Grade Math has been about exploring word problems.  The children enjoyed creating their own problems out in the gardens.
