We were all very happy to be back - lots of smiles! The K/1's began the new year by brainstorming winter projects they would like to do (see photo). Our main themes this winter include a study of one of our favorite authors Jan Brett, and a study of native birds. In science the children explored "what freezes?" They made predictions on how long it might take for different kinds of liquids to freeze. The first grade mathematicians created a January calendar and began a project to explore the number 2012. Presently they are working with base ten blocks. Kindergarten math blog http://www.kmathematicians.blogspot.com/
The K/1's had fun reading books about winter and creating snow people.
Thank you Laura for showing us how to draw a snowman! |
I'm sharing my poster. I missed the show of work. |
